Next Level: 7 Glenbrook North Athletes Sign Letters Of Intent

NORTHBROOK, IL — For seven Glenbrook North student-athletes, next fall is looking pretty exciting. The group signed their national letters of intent to become Division I athletes on Nov. 10 in a ceremony at the school. "This is a great group of athletes, students and leaders in our school," GBN Athletic Director John Catalano said. "It's exciting to see all of their hard work and dedication pay-off. The entire athletic department is very proud of them." The seven athletes are: Brooke Blumenfeld, a 6-foot small forward, will play women's basketball at Northern Illinois University. He was a senior scholar athlete and all-conference selection this fall for the football team. Congratulations to @HenschelRyan and his family on his official commitment to play baseball at The University of Rhode Island. Outstanding person, athlete, and teammate. Bright future for this young man. pic.twitter.com/Rr2gPiTQkc— Glenbrook North Baseball (@GBN_Baseball) November 11, 2021 Maddie Konopka will be taking her talents to New York, where she'll play for the women's volleyball team at Binghamton University. She was an all-conference selection for the conference champion Titans. Morissa Lambert is committed to American University to play women's soccer. Kamila Nowak will be part of the women's swimming team at Indiana State University. The all-conference member was a conference champion this fall in the 200- and 500-freestyle. Nowak won the 500 at sectionals. She finished 19th in the state in the 500 for the sectional runner-up Titans. Teammate Nya Robinson will be swimming at Penn State University in 2022. Robinson, an all-conference selection, was a sectional champion in the 50 freestyle. She finished 10th in Illinois in the 100 freestyle.
