Free Livermore Bird Walk, Canine Class Offered This Weekend

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is offering a free fall bird walk and canine class this weekend in Sycamore Grove Park. The bird walk event will be held 9 a.m. Saturday. Binoculars will be available to borrow for the slow-paced walk guided by ranger Eric Whiteside, the park district said. Guests will look and listen for birds. Guests must RSVP to Whiteside at [email protected] or 925-960-2400. The "Canines Around the World" class will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, also at Sycamore Grove Park. Learn about canines around the world, including North American grey wolves and African jackals, at a class taught by Ranger Dan Thomas. RVSP to Thomas at [email protected] or 925-960-2400. Both events will be canceled in the event of rain. Sycamore Grove Park is located at 5035 Arroyo Road.
