Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance services to ensure safety of our employees and the consumers we serve. All work reflects the mission and vision of The Progress Center. This position is to assist in general maintenance type duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Duties: 1. Perform general duties as follows: a. Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and minor painting etc. b. Maintenance of the workshop area located at 35 Cottage Street c. Grounds maintenance unless otherwise contracted d. Cleaning and repair work as identified e. Ensure that all equipment is clean and adequately maintained f. Winter snow removal i.e. sidewalks and walkways g. Maintain the general upkeep and working order of all Progress Center properties h. General maintenance of company vehicles i. Logging of required regular building system testing in compliance with federal, state and local regulations General: 1. Comply with all federal, state and local regulations as regards services for persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities or autism, including rights of recipients and mandatory reporting. 2. Comply with Office of Aging and Disability Services and Department of Human Services regulations. 3. Demonstrate respect and add value to the lives of those we support 4. Fulfill all training requirements 5. Participate as a member of the Team Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent. Abilities: This position requires the ability to function comfortably both independently and in a team in environment, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels. Exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Must have a strong working background in maintenance or similar field. Attention to detail is imperative for the success of this position. Physical Demands: The physical demands described herein are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job and include climbing stairs regularly, carrying and lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs, bending and stretching. This position requires full body movement mechanics, such as bending, twisting and climbing to include ladders and stairs. This position requires extended periods of time standing and moving. Mental Demands: Must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, be self-directed, and effectively work within a busy and demanding environment. Safety: The Progress Center promotes a safe work environment. Employees must follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure an accident free workplace. Must maintain compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees must follow and adhere to all HIPAA and agency confidentiality and privacy policies and practices. Employees may also be required to follow additional confidentiality policies and practices required by certain programs or business units. Work Environment: The Maintenance Worker will primarily work from The Progress Center Campus at 35 Cottage Street, Norway location with travel to other locations regularly. Job Performance Evaluation: The employee will be evaluated at 90 days and annually thereafter unless performance warrants more frequent evaluations. Employment Conditions: This is a full time non-exempt position with those related benefits as outlined in the personnel policies. An initial background check will be completed to ensure the employee meets the standards set by the agency and random background checks will be conducted throughout employment to ensure continued integrity of the employee.
