We are looking for someone with good customer service, organizational, and critical thinking skills to help in the office of our small musical instrument manufacturing company, celebrating 30 years in Vancouver Wa. The most important part of the job is interfacing with customers and suppliers with excellent and efficient verbal and written communication skills. Initially, you would be fielding incoming phone calls, emails, and faxes to get the requests to the correct person in the company. As you learn more about our products, you will be answering many of these incoming questions yourself or referencing a predefined list. The second part of the job is entering orders, invoices, bills, new components, and other information into a computer. Using a computer is central to this job, so you cannot be computer illiterate, but you would not have to be a computer expert either. You would need to be familiar and comfortable using spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets, or at minimum, you would need to learn to use them quickly. The job does require a decent amount of writing emails and other documents on Word or Google Docs. Currently, the person doing this job is only available around 32-34 hours per week. However, we hope to find someone full-time who can help with additional tasks such as fun social media posting or aiding our production manager with data entry and packaging/shipping. We like to discover ways of utilizing people's strengths, so where you end up helping will depend on where you shine. The pay is between $18-24 per hour, depending on what you bring to the position, given your experience. We also offer full medical, dental, and vision benefits.
