install new pump for landscape fountain //sprinkler

See picture attached There is a Basic aquarium pump below the basin that gets clogged about every 6 months and burns up. I have the replacement pump. Need someone experienced to: -remove the basin, connect the new pump, put some fine mesh or something around the pump in the water to stop getting clogged.
