The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative has an an exciting opening for an experienced Plant Manager to provide strong floor-level leadership with a proven track record in a fast-paced production environment. OBRC is the industry steward of Oregon’s nationally recognized beverage container deposit program. We help keep Oregon beautiful by providing outstanding services to our partner distributors and retailers, and to the public for the recovery, reuse, and recycling of beverage containers. Summary The Plant Manager is responsible for all plant production processes, managing labor metrics, workflow, quality control, maintenance, and safety issues. This position is responsible for ensuring departmental productivity and performance objectives are met and ensures all production related reporting is accurately prepared and forwarded to the appropriate person(s). The Plant Manager selects, trains, directs, evaluates, and provides disciplinary action for all direct reports. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Manage supervisors and production employees to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively Manage the security and cleanliness of the yard and outer areas of the plant Lead safety meetings with all shift crew members Develop and execute staffing plan in collaboration with Director of Plant Operations Coordinate work activities with other departments within the company Manage budgets for the operation in cooperation with Director of Plant Operations Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work environment Responsible for all production processes Responsible for proper staffing levels on shift to meet labor efficiency demands Responsible for safety compliance by all employees Selects, trains, directs, and evaluates all direct reports. Collaborates with maintenance management to maintain workflow and make strategic decisions on equipment repairs Education/Experience Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred 7-10 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor with at least 10 reporting under, or 5 years as a Facility Manager with up to 50 reporting under Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor team members to further growth and resolve employee conflict. Ability to analyze problems and find solutions, identify opportunities for improvement, develop improved policies or procedures, and work collaboratively to implement organizational change. Proficiency and professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Databases Supervisory Responsibility This position has direct supervisory responsibility Travel Infrequent travel Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Standing/Frequent walking throughout facility on concrete floors Occasional traversing up steel grated stairways Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and more!
