When: Thursday, December 9, 2021, 7:30am – 1:30pm Where: Northridge Recreation Center, 18300 Lemarsh St., Northridge, CA 91324 Sponsors: City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department, Mayor's Office of Public Safety, and Department of Recreation and Parks Register here: Show off your acting skills! Role play disaster survivors seeking shelter and City services following a simulated earthquake. See a spontaneous emergency shelter operation by LA City public safety agencies! Bring along your friends, family, grandparents, kids, and service animals (sorry, no pets)! Bring easy-to-carry “pop up” tents or shade structures to simulate sheltering in the park while the City of Los Angeles assesses your needs and provides you with services. It’s Easy to Participate! We will provide scripts explaining who you’ll be portraying and answers to all the questions that may be asked. You’ll Make an Important Difference! Provide feedback on how well your needs were met, which will improve the City's preparations for future emergency sheltering and mass care operations. $25 AMAZON GIFT CARD (for first 50 to register/show up) AND FREE LUNCH Note: All volunteers, or the legal guardian of minors, will be required to sign a liability waiver and grant their permission to be recorded and/or have photographs of them taken during the exercise.
