Description

This course is for Youth Ages 11 to 15 learn child care, first aid, leadership and communication skills. The American Red Cross® Babysitter’s Training Course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting video, role-plays and lively discussions. Youth ages 11 to 15 learn child care, first aid, leadership and communication skills. Topics include: supervising children and infants; performing basic child-care skills such as diapering, feeding and dressing; choosing safe, age-appropriate games and toys; handling bedtime issues; identifying safety hazards and preventing injuries; caring for minor cuts, communicating effectively with parents; and finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs. Class size is limited. The class participant fee includes Babysitter’s Training Kit. The kit has a Handbook, Emergency Reference Guide, first aid kit and back pack for babysitters to use in the class and on the job. Snacks and beverages are also available. Must attend both days. Schedule is subject to change. *Covid Assessments and Temperature Checks will be preformed as students arrive. Sanitizer available onsite. Masks requested when social distancing is not achievable. We are a community-based organization focused on helping make the world for children around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless staff, we organize exciting community-building events and in-depth training sessions for all that care for children. This includes parents, teachers and providers.
