Description

The last leg of the Rubber City Road Rally is a driving route with inside tours of local sacred landmarks from historic to contemporary. On Sunday, December 12th, the last event in the 2021 Rubber City Road Rally series will feature driving directions to locations in Akron featuring Sacred Structures of Summit County. Thank you to the sponsors of the event: Premier: Bob Hutchison and Tom Hutchison Hay Loft Sponsors: Guy and Renee Pipitone Food and Beverages: The Billow Company The event is free and open to the public but registrations are required. Participants may contribute to a goodwill donation that will be shared amongst all the participating organizations. Driving directions will be provided in an order to see all the structures and those interested may choose to answer questions inside each structure. The event will start at Prince of Peace Baptist Church on Garth Avenue. Confirmed structures at this time also include the following: St. Vincent's Catholic Church Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church St. Bernard's Catholic Church City of Joy Enrichment Center Check back at the beginning of December for a full list of structures. A silent auction will be held at the last location. Founded in 1924, the mission of Summit County Historical Society, a 501(c)3 corporation, is to preserve and interpret the history of Summit County and Akron, and to educate regional communities about the people and events that have shaped our rich history.
