A suggested donation of $15 per person is appreciated (we will have a donation box at the event). *proof of vaccination required and masks must be worn for admission * WATERPROOF is the story of one community’s crusade to create a safe swimming environment in East Hampton, New York. Led by the incomparable Big John and Johnny Jr., these lifeguards give the best of themselves to train, compete, and ultimately ensure the safety of locals and tourists alike at the eastern end of Long Island. “The entire film is about saving lives and about what it takes in the way of community bonding to achieve that.” - Mae MouginWATERPROOF has been screened at film festivals across the United States and internationally, winning several awards. Most recently, WATERPROOF was awarded Best Short Documentary at Cannes Shorts 2021. The December 5 screenings bring the documentary back to the community where it was born. East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue (EHVOR), an all volunteer emergency response organization, has been responding to water emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, since 2003. Our mission is to make expedient and safe water rescues year-round at all unprotected beaches in the Town of East Hampton by responding quickly and coordinating with East Hampton Emergency Services. We are responsible for open water education, water safety and the supervision of permitted water events.
