Description

We are excited to introduce educational, business, and government leaders in our community to this new service provided by Ensign college. Since 1886 Ensign College has been focused on preparing students for careers by helping them obtain the needed skills for employment. For 135 years we have continued to keep pace with the business world to provide employers with graduates who are prepared to contribute in meaningful ways on their first day of employment. In that tradition, I am excited to share with you the grand opening of Ensign College’s Ensign Center for Employer Connections (EC2). The opening of the center is the culmination of years of collaboration with internship providers, alumni, industry advisors, and employment partners. EC2 is housed here at the Triad Center with resources in two buildings, including the repurposing of the historic Carriage House. The physical proximity to Ensign College and its students, along with the convenient downtown location provides a unique win-win opportunity for our students and our employment partners. The Ensign Center for Employer Connections is the first of its kind within the Church Education System. Employment partners at EC2 are provided satellite office space here on campus, giving them prime downtown office space and creating an opportunity for students have an “off-campus” internship experience while conveniently working alongside employers here on campus. I extend my personal invitation for you to participate in our grand opening for the Ensign Center for Employer Connections (EC2) on Thursday, December 2. A brief ceremony, overview of the center and introduction to our employment partners will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This opening will be followed by visiting, networking and an open house. I encourage you to save a few minutes to tour the EC2 facilities in Triad Center Building 3—which also houses the BYU Salt Lake Center and BYU-Pathway Worldwide. I would also like to show you the enhancements we have planned at the historic Carriage House, a short walk across the Triad Center plaza. I look forward, with anticipation, to the opportunity to visit with you in December. I’d like to learn more about your organizations and look for new opportunities that might be a benefit to you and to our students.
