What choices can we make to keep ourselves safer? How do we avoid being selected as a victim? Personal and Home Protection is a guide to understanding conflict avoidance, situational awareness, home security, and home defense. Whether you choose to own a firearm for protection or not, this class is for you. What behaviors can put us at greater risk of victimization and how do we avoid them? How does a firearm factor into a defensive plan if we choose to use one? What other options are available? The class will examine what the real chances of becoming a victim are. We will cover some basic criminal psychology and look at how victims are routinely selected. Then we will look at how to lessen our risk of being selected. We will also examine home protection with the same eye towards making our homes less appealing to criminals. How do we harden our homes against potential threats? What to do if we do find ourselves the victim of a home invasion. This class is a starting point for the student to begin addressing their personal security. We will focus on how the choices we make can affect our individual security. We will then demonstrate how to make choices that increase personal security both inside and outside the home. This is not a shooting a class. There will be no firearms or ammunition in the classroom.
