Description
Hello! I'm a 29 year old guitarist, looking for bass, drums, and keys to start a jam band. I have some original songs we could play, but I'm really thinking about the idea of a "Jam Band Cover Band." There's a million Top 40 Cover Bands, but no one playing the tunes for us jam folks. The idea is to cover stuff like:
- Grateful Dead
- Phish
- Umphrey's McGee
- String Cheese Incident
- Allman Brothers
- Plus maybe some Floyd, Widespread, Talking Heads, MMW, Pidgeons, Goose, Vulfpeck... that type of thing. Anything that could be funky groove jam band music.
It's not easy music, so I'm looking for serious musicians, preferably with Jazz or Jam Band experience. Singing is a plus. I was a full time musician for almost 10 years. I studied jazz guitar at Indiana University and led multiple jam/pop/rock/jazz bands. I'm not looking for a play once a week in a garage crew. If we can get the people together, we would rehearse a few times and then get the gigs together.
