Description
Through generous donations, we provide these dads' families a bit of holiday joy by fulfilling their Christmas wish list on behalf of dad. Part of the mission of Fathers Incorporated is to empower a community network of fathers and families by creating an environment of support. Every year around this time, we begin to enter a spirit of giving and celebration. Throughout the year, we provide services to meet the need of dads and their families. These services assist with strengthening and building the capacity of dads. Home for the Holidads is one of the many ways we seek to create empowerment environments for families. Home For the Holidads began in 2018 to help fill the void of families left by an incarcerated dad. Through generous donations, we have provided these dads' families a bit of holiday joy by fulfilling their Christmas wish list on behalf of dad. We attempt to fill the void of an absent dad by extending his reach by giving a bit of joy to his children and families by presenting gifts on behalf of the incarcerated dad. This year we have invited eight (8) families of the dads we serve in the Fulton County Jail and three (3) of our Gentle Warrior Academy program participants. Fathers Incorporated will use the day to create a festive environment of Fatherhood and Family. In addition to using basketball to attract youth, we are also hosting a Men's Den. The program provides a monthly gathering of dads to help address their mental well-being. Our guest speaker is Superbowl Champion and All-Pro Running back for the Green Bay Packers; Dorsey Levens. In his workshop, he will address the strategy of Mindfulness. The event will include light refreshments, a Santa Claus, gifts, basketball workouts, training dad and child 3pt shootout, and a couple of competitive basketball games. Thank you to our supporters and sponsors; Shooter's Paradise, Core4, MLB, and MLBPA. Kenneth Braswell has spent over 27 years in the service of family and community.
