NATICK, MA — A Natick Town Meeting member is looking to make the leap to the Select Board. Cody Jacobs on Wednesday launched his campaign to run for a Natick Select Board seat in 2022. The upcoming March election features two Select Board seats, including the one that member Sue Salamoff is leaving. Jacobs, 37, a Boston University Law School lecturer, said he's running to focus on "social justice, climate action, moral budgeting and government accountability." In the 2021 election, Jacobs endorsed Guimel DeCarvalho for Select Board. "I'm ready to get to work. I'm looking forward to getting out there and talking with voters about a progressive vision for Natick," Jacobs, a Precinct 2 Town Meeting member, said in a news release Wednesday. Jacobs is the second candidate to announce a campaign ahead of election filing season. Former Zoning Board of Appeals member Kathryn Coughlin announced in early November that she would run for Select Board. Nomination papers for the election will be available beginning Dec. 1. Rick Jennett's Select Board seat is also up for election in 2022 along with Salamoff's open seat. Natick voters will also elect the Town Clerk, Town Moderator and three School Committee members.
