Should I give up on home ownership in Fremont?

For the past year I have been trying to buy a house in Fremont. We have been renters for the past 10 years. Our jobs are in Fremont and kids go to local schools. The way real estate market was going prior to the pandemic, I thought there would be a correction. But Fed decided to print money and within a year we got priced out. I am a solid borrower with a large downpayment and a FICO in 800s. I have submitted countless offers and keep getting outbid. :( If you happen to know anyone who is thinking of selling, can you please connect us? We are not investors, just a family wanting to have a roof of our own. I would prefer not to deal with realtors because they are the ones making this impossible for common people by creating offer deadlines and auction like settings. I would rather deal directly with a seller who wants to pass their home to another family at a reasonable price, and pay for a lawyer to draw the contract. Thank you!
