Elaine Pagels Drive Yields Nearly 1/2 Ton of Food for FISH Pantry

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago is pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Elaine Pagels Group Food Drive to benefit the Downers Grove Area FISH Pantry. The drive yielded a ½ ton of non-perishable food and products including diapers, wipes and personal hygiene items. The Downers Grove, Hinsdale and La Grange offices accepted contributions and agents loaded all of the donated items into a Boerman’s Moving and Storage truck that was kindly donated to transport the collection to FISH Pantry the morning of October 12th. Downers Grove Area FISH Pantry is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization which has served local communities since 1969. Their services include a food pantry, clothes closet, financial assistance, and transportation. Downers Grove Area FISH Pantry is dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for the people in our community. They strive to provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for clients and volunteers alike. Although DuPage County is the second-richest county in Illinois, more than 1 in every 10 adults is projected to be food insecure (source: Impact DuPage). The FISH Pantry helps hundreds of families and individuals each year from Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Westmont and Woodridge. It is amazing organization. Unfortunately, she passed away four years ago. I, along with many others, credit her with making our downtown area such a vibrant community.
