Description
This project is closing up the window on the 1st floor of a 1938 brick house between the living room and the outside porch. Pictures of the window are attached.
We would like to pay $1000 for labor, for both the masonry and simple carpentry job together. If you cannot do both, then please tell us how much it would cost to do your part. We will pay for bricks and wood materials as needed. If interested please email back with interest level and information about your past work and current services for masonry and wood window framing.
More details:
From the exterior side, the window opening, including casing, is approximately 35 inches wide and 55 inches tall.
We need a contractor to do the following:
Framing out the wall opening, applying insulation, and everything required for an exterior facing wall (except the dry walling, as listed above)
Bricking the exterior window opening to create a blind/false window similar to this image online (update 10/31: the top of our windows are not curved. We are open to doing vertical soldiers or keep it simple without them):
For the brick matching, we do not mind if it is is not perfect, we just want something close to our walkway, which is in one of the picture. If you can present us with some options and costs, that would work.
We will do the following ourselves:
Demo - Removing the window and casings
Drywalling the interior wall and painting
We want someone to give us the masonry and framing so I can do the drywall myself.
Here are pictures of our window: see in CL ad.
