MASSACHUSETTS — It's Wednesday, Nov. 17. Here's what you should know this afternoon: A one-day warm-up is coming to Massachusetts thanks to an odd weather pattern.The new season of a popular GBH quiz show will feature local high school students. Today's Top Story There's a big, warm air mass hovering over the U.S. right now, and it'll move into the region on Thursday. Temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees higher than usual, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures near Boston will be pushing 70 degrees on Thursday. It'll be slightly cooler to the west, with Worcester set to reach about 64 degrees by Thursday afternoon. But it won't last. Temperatures will drop back into the 30s overnight Thursday — and then down into the 20s overnight Friday, according to forecasts.
