Seeking 'cynical Joel the cabbie'; drove a cab in the 1980s

A couple of friends & I used to know a fella named Joel who drove a Yellow Cab (I think it was Yellow...)/ taxi in the late 80's. At one point later on, he dated my friend Susan, but mostly he was just our friend. He was quite cynical, & very interested in crypto-geography. Wore glasses, had, at the time, medium-length brown hair. Highly quirky & intellectual fellow, with a strange & intriguing sense of humor, & a passion for geomancy, & conspiracy theories. Last time I saw him, about 1990, he gave me a recording of himself talking about world politics, etc, which was put through effects processors (delay & such) by a member of, I think, the Meat Puppets, or 8 Circuit Model. Man o' man, I would really like to find this fella! Probably about 60-65 years old, now. Maybe older.
