Male (40's) guitarist wants to play Modern Country.
Been in lots of bands, they keep getting better and better. Nothing serious, lots of dive bar clubs and backyard parties and community sponsored events. But if you've ever had 100 people at a keg party dancing in the rain at the lake, you'll do almost whatever it takes to get back there. It's been a while since anybody's had parties like that, but it's time to get that going again.
I moved, two of the best bands I've ever been in are likely gonna fall apart because of the distance. I'm looking to get something else going.
I like to play modern country covers (Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Luke Bryan, other new stuff). Arrangements mostly true to original form, but often tweaked to make it work better live. Not so much emphasis on play the part perfectly, but 'play what's missing' and use musicianship to make the show. Doesn't mean you don't learn the part, but a 4 piece band is never gonna duplicate a 28 track recording, so do what you can and have fun with it. Rehearse it, make it kick ass, and people will love it.
I like to mix in other genres too, I won't name them because it's too suggestive and really depends on the players involved. We're all musicians so we'll find some other songs to play but my main focus is modern country, cuz I love it. And lets face it, there's more clubs that want to hire modern country cover bands, than there are modern country cover bands
I've posted before and got some good replies. Some I'm still communicating with, and want to continue discussing things. But I'm still looking for the band or the people that want to do something similar to my vision. Taking my time, trying not to jump into someone else's situation if it's not really what I'm looking for.
If you read all that and you're still interested, shoot me an email and tell me about yourself, your musical experience, and what you want to do musically.
Thanks
