This unique job involves using primarily high-powered lasers in downtown Austin to guard, deter, and repel bird flocks from landing and roosting in trees overnight. Each shift is only 1.25 hours per evening starting at dusk, which is currently about 5:30. Each shift pays $26. Paydays are every other Friday. This is a perfect job for someone close to downtown looking to make some extra easy money. You will be part of a team of Technicians that are required to be ON TIME, stay in their designated zones, stay focused, repel birds then guard the trees in their zone. Must be able to communicate in fluent English in order to answer questions by a very curious general public. It is a high-profile job that may bring attention to you, so you must be able to stay focused on your job. The lasers are not harmful to humans or animals in normal circumstances. You must be willing to work at least 3 evening shifts per week (scheduled in advance consistently), but you may be able to work more shifts if you desire. Shifts are available 7 days a week. There will be brisk walking involved during the whole shift, so please be able to handle the demand. Birds are in no way harmed during the abatement process.
