Description
I am an experienced keyboardist, moved to the area during the pandemic, who is looking for collaborators for gigs and recording, ideally a quartet whose musicians:
~ are flexible in style but have serious jazz cred. I play classical, jazz, funk, and rock. The end result could be a lot of things, but imagine a synthesis of Dumpstaphunk, Dopapod, Esperanza Spalding, Umphrey’s McGee, Snarky Puppy, The Meters, Tauk, Herbie Hancock, and groove-oriented ambient.
~ learn fast, are good at improvising, have fluid technique, and who know how to sound good and make a band sound good.
~ have considerable technique and ears, have had some experience performing and recording, and are responsible and professional.
The goal is to play out, so maybe we do more familiar material at first. I regularly play be-bop and could easily manage a traditional jazz gig.
