Description
I used to front a half decent indie band. I play electric and acoustic guitar pretty well. Played shows all around Philly, but it’s been a few years and I’m a little out of practice collaborating with bandmates.
Essentially, I’m looking to find someone or some people likeminded to write songs with. I feel like I’m stagnating and music is a massive, massive part of my life. I miss it and would take it seriously if we found some chemistry.
Do you parse lyrics? Will a random deep cut make your knees weak? Do you try to write your own songs? Does music solve problems for you?
I don’t think I’d blow anybody’s mind with my skill, but I feel like I’ve got a definite knack for songwriting and have some originals I’ve been tossing around in my head for awhile. Time to build them up.
Some of my favorite artists/influences:
My Constants: Neil Young, Dylan, Velvets, Petty, Built To Spill, Rolling Stones, My Morning Jacket, Parquet Courts, Jason Isbell, Sharon Van Etten, War on Drugs, Angel Olsen, Kurt Vile, The Waterboys
What I’ve been Listening To Lately: Big Thief, Lightning Bug, Faye Webster, Wild Pink, Alex G, Steve Gunn, John Fahey, Towns Van Zandt, The Jayhawks
I’m also super into hip hop but it’s not a music influence as far as my playing. I know my limitations lol.
Hit me up if any of this sounds interesting. I can share some of my old stuff, but am more focused on what’s next.
Also I don’t think this matters, but I’m a guy with a deeper vocal range in my very early 30s.
