World AIDS Day 2021: Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access Join HIV Alliance for World AIDS Day in Eugene! World AIDS Day is on Wednesday December 1st and this year’s theme is “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access.” We recognize World AIDS Day as a day to honor our combined work to end HIV, celebrate our collective successes, and remember those that we have lost.HIV Alliance is committed to ending HIV-related and other serious health disparities experienced by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other communities in Oregon that experience barriers to service. We are working to create an environment where everyone is able to receive the same high quality education and health services to help prevent and treat HIV. This year we will be hosting several ceremonies throughout Oregon in collaboration with our community partners. In Ashland, we will be hosting an ceremony event from 3:00 to 4:00pm at the Bricks at OSF. The ceremony will be lead by our Executive Director along with other speakers. We will be awarding the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and our equitable community partners and supporters who help us raise awareness on how HIV affects our communities and who come together to increase equitable access to healthcare for all. After the event, we will be walking down to Platt Anderson cellars for a social gathering after party, where you'll be able to talk to our Director, board members, and other supporters and friends. Event Information: World AIDS Day, December 1, 2021, The Bricks at OSF, 3:00 - 4:00pm Our events help to raise money for our prevention and education programs. World AIDS Day also holds to serve as a day of awareness, to honor our combined work to end HIV, celebrate our collective successes, and remember those that we have lost.
