Cadet Great Start is geared towards new and prospective youth (ages 12-18) in the Cadet Program. Participants learn about all the exciting o Cadet Great Start is geared towards new and prospective youth (ages 12-18) in the Cadet Program. Participants learn about all the exciting opportunities with the program and also receive training in: drill, customs & courtesies, aerospace, physical fitness, uniforms and how to wear them, and finally preparation for their first promotion. This is a five-week program, plus Saturday field day, that culminates on week five with a graduation ceremony and promotions for those who complete all their requirements. After this, our next opportunity to join will be in May. This is your chance to join a great youth leadership organization. Please only register tickets for those 12-18 who are interested in joining. We train our area youth in the areas of leadership, exploring aerospace and aviation careers, physical fitness, and strong moral character. These skills don't just apply to the military, we only have about 10% who enlist, but to general lifeskills important to future success. The cadet program consists of youth ages 12-20 and also an adult program for interested parents or others who wish to help serve our nation. Civil Air Patrol is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force and has been serving our nation since December 1st, 1941.
