Description

Come tryout for the Owensboro Thoroughbreds! Earn your spot with one of the top professional basketball organizations playing in the TBL. Bred To Win: Tryout TourLast year, our organization was the most experienced group of athletes in the TBL. If you are wanting to learn from NBA, G League, and overseas veterans, this is the organization for you. The 2022 Season of The Basketball League is quickly approaching! This season will be better than ever! If you are looking for an organization that has the highest average salary in the league, guaranteed on-time paychecks, furnished accommodations, food allowance, bonus opportunities, professional culture and development for your career goals, then you need to be at one of our combines. Combines will be staggered to not interfere with each other and within a 200 mile radius of the teams in season location. That way, if you do receive an invite to the next level, you are close to home. How does the Tryout work? This season, we want to take a more direct approach to our recruiting, vetting, and signing process. We want to ensure that each and every player gets a solid opportunity to make a team with the Thoroughbreds. How does that happen? You must register before the combine. NO athletes will be considered without registering. Within the sign up process, there is a questionnaire that must be answered to complete your registration. You must attend a combine to be considered. Sending in film, an email, a direct message or asking an agent to call will not be sufficient. We must meet you in person, at a combine, to have the opportunity. We limit each combine day to 50 athletes. Limiting the amount of people within the gym allows us to focus in on that small group. We want to ensure that the coaches and scouts have time to meet, talk and work with you during that time. At each combine, you will receive team gear (shirt, shorts, mask), headshot, and film. This way we will have an opportunity to review your photo, interview questionnaire and film before making our final decision on who will attending training camp. From each day of our combines (3 total), 5 athletes will be invited to training camp. 30 athletes will be invited in total to attend. You have a 10% chance of going to camp just by showing up to a combine. Training Camp will be determined as we get closer to the season. However, if you receive an invite to training camp, all expenses will be paid during those 3 days.* During that time, team administration will narrow the roster down to 10-12 athletes and offer them a contract for the season. PLAYERS WILL NOT RECEIVE PAYMENT UNTIL FEBRUARY 15th AND THEIR CONTRACT IS SIGNED! If you make it to training camp, you have a 40-50% chance of making the roster for the 2021 season. This is the best system for any athlete pursuing a pro career in basketball.
