Hi there - I bought a hamster a couple of weeks ago in an attempt to help with grieving my dog but quickly realized that, well, he's not a dog. Please do your research on Syrians. He is tame enough to be held and will sit in your hand and munch on a carrot and look cute but, you know, he's a prey species so if it were up to him, he'd rather be left alone. Upon researching hamsters and living with this one for a couple of weeks, I came to realize that owning a hamster is more like owning a fish than owning a dog or cat because they prefer for things to be hands-off. Maybe you're a hamster whisperer though and can make him love you? ANYWAYS, with travel plans approaching, I'm hoping to find a new home for the little guy.
