Mandolin and flat-picking guitar prodigy - Kyle Ledson - was 2019’s breakout star at the Crazy Horse. He appeared onstage over a dozen times on his own and blowing minds alongside top shelf artists. We are thrilled to welcome him back for the first time since the pandemic with his smoking hot band – Broken Compass. Majorly upping the ante for this homecoming and pre-Christmas extravaganza, the band will feature special guest bassist – Ben Kaufmann of Yonder Mountain String Band! Known until recently as Kyle Ledson & Friends, Broken Compass has rapidly gained acclaim for their razor-sharp arrangements, organic interplay and well-developed songwriting. The band performs a mix of jamgrass, traditional bluegrass, country, Grateful Dead material and instant-classic originals. Born and bred in the Foothills, Broken Compass co-stars Django Ruckrich (17) on guitar, and Mei Lin Heirendt (16) on fiddle. Though still teenagers, they’ve all been playing practically since they were old enough to walk. All three are seasoned performers, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters and singers having established themselves as some of California’s most prominent up-and-coming players. Gaining momentum exponentially with every gig they play, Broken Compass is a fresh force in the cutting-edge acoustic music scene. Along with the well-seasoned Jedi Kaufmann, there are no limits to where this quartet can go. Yonder Mountain String Band
