Black Swan, Inc. is looking for a Personal Vehicle Rural Courier to service the Montgomery, Texas area. This position would be expected to load packages into their personal vehicle at the FedEx Ground location in College Station, Texas, and drive out to these locations to deliver the packages. YOU MUST SUPPLY YOUR OWN VEHICLE The following types of personal vehicles can be used: Sedans, station wagons, SUVs, minivans and pickup trucks (covered and secured bed preferred) Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal Pay: $18.00 per hour Scheduling: A 4-day work week is preferred. More days may be available for the right candidate. Optimal schedules would be Thurs-Sun, Sat-Tues, Wed-Sat, or Sun-Wed. We operate 7 days per week, so there is flexibility in determining a schedule. Expect to work approximately 5-6 hours per day. Requirements: Driver’s license 21 years or older Be able to maneuver boxes up to 150lbs Pass Background Check Pass Motor Vehicle Record check Vehicle Requirements The vehicle model year must be no older than 15 years Vehicle registration Proof of insurance Proof of state inspection The following types of personal vehicles can be used: station wagons, SUVs, minivans and pickup trucks (covered and secured bed) Additional Qualifications: Must be extremely dependable Focused on providing excellent customer service Be personable and presentable Have map-reading and navigation skills Be a team player Adapt quickly and efficiently to short-notice changes Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Courier will arrive at the College Station, Texas FedEx Ground location to retrieve packages from the FedEx Ground terminal (most packages will be small) Load all packages assigned to your area into your vehicle in the morning Safely and efficiently drive vehicle to delivery locations (businesses and residences) Greet customers in a friendly fashion (when applicable) Deliver packages in an appropriate drop-off area (e.g. front door), obliging customer requests and obtaining signatures when necessary Problem-solve loading and delivery issues, navigational discrepancies, and customer requests Other responsibilities as assigned A typical day would look like the following: Arrive at the FedEx Ground location in your FedEx-approved personal vehicle at approximately 9:30am. Load approximately 80-100 small packages into your personal vehicle. Around 10am, dispatch to delivery area(s) and safely and efficiently drive and deliver packages to appropriate locations. Finish all deliveries around 4:00pm and return to FedEx Ground location to return pick-ups or any other coded packages. This day assumes a productivity of 15 stops per hour.
