SALEM, MA —The Salem YMCA will host a coronavirus vaccination clinic on Saturday in hopes of getting more residents that first shot and boosters ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Adult and child (5 through 11 years old) doses of the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson (adult-only) vaccines will be available through the Massachusetts General Brigham mobile clinic at the YMCA on Sewall Street. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon. No insurance is required and those getting vaccinated will not be asked about their immigration status. The YMCA clinic is in addition to doses available at local pharmacies, health care offices and the Salem Public Schools clinics geared primarily toward students. The state's free "Stop the Spread" testing sites will remain in operation through early next week before being closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Both the drive-thru site at Salem High School (4 to 8 p.m.) and the walk-up site at St. Peter's Church (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will be open during regular hours on Monday and Tuesday. The walk-up site will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday while the Salem High site will be closed. Both sites will be closed Thursday and Friday next week. The Salem High School site will reopen on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for post-holiday testing ahead of the return to school and work. Did you find this article useful?
