Four Easton firefighters who delivered a baby boy in the back of an ambulance last month met the newborn and his mom today for the first time since his birth. Syreeta Essex brought her newborn son, Isaiah, to Easton Fire Station 3 to meet Lt. Bill Fralick, Lt. Jeff Dupuis, Firefighter Jimmy Baptiste and Firefighter Christopher Brasells. All four firefighters were able to hold Isaiah. Chief Alexander also presented the firefighters with stork pins, a tradition in the fire service that recognizes crews who have delivered babies.  The firefighters will also be given letters of commendation and a stork sticker will be attached to the Easton Fire ambulance Isaiah was delivered in in the coming weeks.  At approximately 4 a.m. on Oct. 18, Easton Fire responded to a report of a woman in active labor at a residence on Nancy Road. Upon arrival, crews found Essex close to giving birth and began to transport her to the hospital. The situation progressed quickly and firefighters had to leave the accompanying fire engine at the residence so that they could provide additional medical assistance in the ambulance. Isaiah was born just minutes from Good Samaritan Medical Center and weighed approximately six pounds. Both Syreeta and Isaiah are doing well.
