Experienced owner looking for macaw or possibly other parrot. Preferably harlequin or green wing but open to any breed. I am a bird owner of 30 years, previously adopted and fostered from a vetted rescue when I lived in a town that had one. I will not judge you or your bird, if you are a breeder, or ANYTHING. I just want to give a bird or pair a loving home. My senior military macaw passed away and we all have a vast hole in our heart and family. She was not cuddly and didn't allow for much handling due to abuse prior to our ownership, she adapted to us a lot over the years to be hand fed nuts and held, but she mostly liked to observe and was so happy in her flock she never screamed, unless the whole family was outside....but we very much loved her with all of our hearts. That said, I know I hit the lottery and most macaws amd other large parrots will be loud. We have an ultra large breeder cage (never bred just provided a large cage), and tree stand. I am home on my farm 24/7, never take vacations, our bird was always out except for bed time. She was a rehabilitated plucker, which I'm to understand is an achievement as most birds become addicted. I also rehabbed an African Grey in the past and she was a bald chicken when I got her and regrew every Feather. I provide whole large nuts, some seed, high quality pellets, and chopped fresh vegetables daily, and would do the same with any bird that comes into our home. I harness and flew my birds for exercise. I can provide your baby or older bird with the perfect loving home, please consider us. Willing to travel...
