MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police Tuesday were warning residents about scammers who are apparently posing as cops looking for donations. The warning was posted early Tuesday afternoon. Police said they are investigating a report involving a phone scammer claiming to be from the police department soliciting donations. "If you receive a phone call soliciting donations through the purchase of gift cards, report it to us immediately," police said in a message to residents.
