CYPRESS, TX — All three incumbents were unseated in the Cy-Fair ISD Board of Trustees election Tuesday. With 100 percent of Harris County precincts reporting and over 34,000 votes in each race, none of the winners received a majority, but Cy-Fair ISD races are decided by a plurality and do not go to a runoff. Lucas Scanlon defeated Board President Bob Covey for Position 7, and Scott Henry unseated Board Vice President Don Ryan in Position 6, both by wide margins. Natalie Blasingame defeated incumbent John Ogletree for the Position 5 seat by under 1,500 votes. Live in Houston? Results were delayed until late Tuesday because of an outage at the Harris County Elections' counting center. "The machines are sensitive to any interference, so to ensure the integrity of the computers we conducted a full logic and accuracy test, which takes about two hours," the Harris County Elections administration said in a Facebook post. "Though we want to get the results out quickly, we prioritize processing everything accurately even if it takes some extra time." Voters also cast their ballots for or against eight Texas Constitutional Amendment propositions. Here are the statewide results. For more races from the Houston metro, click here.
