Property Tax Statements Mailed In Harris County

HOUSTON, TX — Over 1 million Harris County residents have been mailed property tax statements this week, according to Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Ann Harris Bennett. Taxpayers should receive their statements in the coming days and weeks and could arrive later than usual because of changes in the United States Postal Service's delivery times, Bennett said. If statements are not received in a timely manner through the mail, taxpayers can view their bill on the Harris County tax website. Property taxes are due Jan. 31, and there are several options to ensure payments are received or postmarked by the deadline. Live in Houston? Payments may be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Credit, debit or free e-check payments may be made on the Harris County tax website or by phone at 713-274-2273. Checks and money orders may be mailed to: P.O. Box 4622, Houston, TX 77210-4622 "If a property owner is struggling to pay their property tax bills, they can contact the tax office to request an installment payment plan," Bennett said in a news release. "Property owners may request an in-office meeting, a meeting via Zoom, or seek assistance by phone. We are here to help."
