Description

PRINCETON, NJ — Representatives of the Graduate Hotel recently presented their construction timeline to Council. The hotel is slated to be constructed at 20 Nassau Street and involves the demolition of the rear building on Chambers Street. The Princeton Zoning Board unanimously approved plans for the 180-room, five-story hotel at the corner of Nassau and Chambers Street earlier this year. Alexander Craig, construction manager for the project told Council that construction is expected to start in November, and the project is slated to be completed in December 2023. For pedestrian and traffic safety, the hotel has proposed a 9x6 foot construction lane adjacent to Chambers Building on Chambers Street, that will allow for two-way traffic. Residents should expect intermittent closures on days there is utility work. The Chambers Building is expected to be demolished in mid-February 2022, and will last until April, Craig said. Parking for construction workers has been arranged with the YMCA on Paul Robeson Place. All construction traffic will be directed to use US Route 206 (Bayard Lane) to Paul Robeson Place to Chambers Street to gain access the construction site. To view the presentation, click here.
