Press release from Springfield Public Schools: August 9, 2021 The District #186 middle school eligibility requirements are as follows: a. Attain a 2.0 GPA in the previous semester b. Pass all classes in the previous semester, and  c. Pass all classes weekly during the current quarter COVID-19 and remote learning continued to create challenges for some students during the 2nd semester of the 2020-21 school year. These challenges resulted in students being ineligible for the 1st semester 2021-22 athletics and extracurricular activities due to not meeting the semester GPA and/or not passing all classes in which they were enrolled. In order to allow student-athletes an opportunity to participate in athletics if they failed to meet the 2.0 GPA requirement and/or failed at least 1 semester class the following participation contract has been developed.
