Journey, Billy Idol To Bring '80s Back To Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — One of the biggest bands of the 1980s announced plans to perform in Pittsburgh next year. Journey will officially kick off its Freedom Tour at PPG Paints Arena on Feb. 22. The opening act will be another '80s stalwart, Billy Idol. Tickets to the general public go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Citi cardmembers can purchase presale tickets beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday. Journey's large catalogue of hits includes "Don't Stop Believin'," "Anyway You Want It," "Wheel in the Sky" and "Faithfully." Idol is best known for songs such as "White Weding," "Rebel Yell" and "Eyes Without a Face." "It's that time. Time to get back to where we are used to being, on stage," Journey's Neil Schon said in a release. "We are looking forward to shifting into high gear and bringing you the best show possible. The band is running on all 12 cylinders and very excited." Idol said "I'm excited to get back to so many wonderful cities and I'm bringing (guitarist) Steve Stevens and the rest of the Billy Idol band with me."
