PHILADELPHIA — An 18-year-old was shot and killed in an armed robbery early Tuesday morning near Temple University's campus, according to the school and reports. The incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m. on the 1700 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Temple said in an alert on Twitter. Action News reports the victim was walking with his girlfriend when two armed men came up to them and announced a robbery. After going through the victims' pockets, the men took the girlfriend's cell phone then shot the man once in the chest, Fox 29 reports. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died at about 4 a.m., according to NBC10. The assailants were last seen running down 18th Street from Cecil B. Moore, multiple outlets report.
