Description
NORTHAMPTON, PA — In recognition of the severity of the trash collection problem in the area, the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors approved an Emergency Declaration Resolution in order to combat the recent missed collections.
The resolution will allow the township to hire other waste haulers to mitigate the missed trash collections by local garbage collection service J.P. Mascaro & Sons, Inc, known simply as 'Mascaro' by locals, as a result of a labor shortage they are experiencing.
Staff members of the township are also in daily contact with Mascaro to resolve missed trash pick-ups and logging all resident calls related to missed pick-ups. Township staff say they are looking for any and all additional alternatives to address the trash collection problem.
The Township directed Mascaro to leave dumpsters in specific locations back in September, which are to be used for yard waste only. The dumpsters are located at:
Old Police Building parking lot, 50 Township Road, RichboroBig Meadow Park parking lot, 249 Stoney Ford Road, HollandTownship Park Maintenance Garage, 283 Hatboro Road (behind Fire Station #83), ChurchvilleSt. Leonard's Road Ballfields, 350 St. Leonard's Road (This dumpster will be removed on 11/15/21)This is in addition to the yard waste truck at the former Police Station, 50 Township Road in Richboro.
Township staff recommends that residents continue reporting missed collections to [email protected] or calling 215-357-6800 and leaving a message.
