ROYAL OAK, MI — A Pontiac man was charged Friday for stealing from multiple vehicles, including from one in Royal Oak, police said.
Matthew Nathaniel Phenix was charged with multiple crimes, including four counts of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property, which is a felony with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, police said.
Phenix's bond was set at $100,000 cash, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Friday at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Wittenberg, police said.

Phenix's criminal history includes convictions of Felony Armed Robbery, Felony Unarmed Robbery, Fleeing and Eluding in the 3rd Degree and Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property, police said.
Officers said Phenix stole a woman's backpack from her vehicle early Wednesday morning on the 2000 block of Woodland Ave at 5:00 a.m.
Officers found Phenix walking south on Woodland Ave with the stolen backpack and a large amount of loose change and dollar bills, police said.
Officers also found Phenix with stolen property from other vehicles, police said.
After giving the officers a false name, Phenix was arrested for larceny from vehicles and obstructing police, police said.
