Press release from City of Douglasville: 11/01/2021 1:48 PM The General Election for the City of Douglasville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.  This election is for Council Member seats for Ward 1, Ward 2 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 2) as well as a general obligation debt referendum bond. On August 6, City Council voted to put a bond referendum before voters in the November 2 Municipal General Election. This bond referendum will ask citizens if bonds should be raised to pay for the design and construction costs to renovate Jessie Davis Park. This bond includes synthetic turf on playing fields, a new swimming pool, splash pad, restroom building and pavilion areas, as well as other phases for gymnasium, community center and senior center. The referendum will be placed on the ballot as follows:   Voting of open Council Member seats will be allowed in Precincts 729, 730, 732, 733, 734, 737, 740, 1259, 1273, 1275 for Ward 1, Ward 2 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 1), Ward 3 (Post 2). All City precincts will be open for voting to authorize general obligation debt bond; therefore, allowing all registered electors of the City of Douglasville the opportunity to vote on November 2, 2021.  The polling places for the election are as follows: Precinct 729 Charles F. Golden United Methodist Church, 6903 W. Forrest Avenue Precinct 730 The Old Douglas County Courthouse, 6754 W. Church Street Precinct 732 Stewart Middle School, 8138 Malone Street Precinct 733 Arbor Station Elementary School, 9999 Parkway South Precinct 734 Bright Star Methodist Church, 3715 Bright Star Road Precinct 737 Chestnut Log Middle School, 2544 Pope Road Precinct 740 First Baptist Church Douglasville, 5900 Prestley Mill Road Precinct 1259 Winston Elementary School, 7465 Georgia Highway 78 Precinct 1273 Turner Middle School, 7101 Jr. High Drive Precinct 1275 Lithia Springs High School, 2520 East County Line Road Precinct 736N Chapel Hill Middle School, 3989 Chapel Hill Road Precinct 739 Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Inc., 3099 Chapel Hill Road Precinct 784 Factory Shoals Middle School, 3301 Shoals School Road Precinct 1270 Atlanta West Pentecostal Church, 2960 Skyview Drive The hours for voting shall be 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
