ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department reports the following incidents in the village that occurred between Nov. 10-14. Unauthorized Debit Card Use A resident at Whitby Court reported on Nov 11 that a person used her debit card information to make an unauthorized purchase. Identity Theft A Woods Avenue resident reported on Nov. 10 that a person used her name to open a debit card for unemployment benefits. Fire A residential building on North Centre Avenue was evacuated after a resident reported at 7:28 on Nov. 10 that a towel caught fire from a candle and activated the sprinkler system. Larcenies A man reported on Nov. 11 that a person stole $1,150 from his vehicle that was parked in his driveway on Broadway. The owner of Living Legends Sports Memorabilia and Collectibles, 124 S. Long Beach Rd., reported on Nov. 12 that someone stole an item from the store. Property Damage A motorist reported on Nov. 12 that her vehicle was damaged when it was parked near 77 N. Centre Avenue.
