Description

Tac Aid is a class designed to teach you what to do before the first responders arrive. Tac Aid is a class designed to teach you what to do before the first responders arrive. It doesn't matter if you are involved in an active shooter event or some other mass casualty event, EMS won't be entering the scene until it's been cleared. You could be the one providing care until they are on scene. Knowing what to do and what not to do will save lives.  We will be covering everything from applying a tourniquet to stopping the bleeding, managing respiratory care, head injuries, shock and triage.  Our instructor has been there, done that and saved lives. He will give you the best and most recent information to prepare you for this type of encounter. Jason Reed is a flight nurse and instructor for Vanderbilt and does this stuff in the real world, day in and day out.  Fixing ourselves and others in an emergency is something we can expect to encounter in our lives. From recognizing shock to dealing with massive hemorrhage, airway assessment, and much more.   - 1 full day of training (this may count as continuing education with your employer - please contact us for details) - dress as you normally do day in and day out - bring any snacks and drinks you think you may want - we will break for lunch around noon
