Description
Thought I would throw this out there and see what I get back. Entrepreneurs are to be found here in gigs I believe. Have been in the gutter maintenance business for 35 years here in N/W Columbus. All those years climbing ladders and walking roofs have worn out my knees. This is the first time in all these years I haven't been able to find any competent help, this entire year. The young man that has been working for me had to move out of town for family reasons this past spring. I was going to begin turning the reins over to him next year. Before I just wind things down and put my big ladders away for good and concentrate on the little and easy jobs, I would like to at least try and see if I can find a motivated young guy that aspires to be his own boss and grow this business to what it could become,, and once was. I just hate turning away paying customers. Feels so unnatural. This business has been good to me over the past 3 decades, but the last 10 years just kinda been on autopilot, just enough to pay the bills and bank enough to be able to take the winter months off. I just don't have that fire in the belly like I used to. Business entails: Gutter and drain clean outs; Installation of gutters and gutter guards; Minor roof repairs; damaged fascia repair; downspout and drain line replacement. Everything gutter related. (leaks, resloping, drip edge, enlarging, resecuring) Some additional side services I have dabbled in over the years include: power washing; roof cleaning and moss control; window washing; chimney sweeping; painting trim; caulking windows; vinyl soffit installation. No limit to the amount of $$ an honest and dependable person can make in these confusing? times. (I can sub out work if you are good at any of these) I have 30 years of good reviews. Let me know if this sounds like something you would be interested in (and you have that fire in your belly). Would prefer to have someone with experience in this line of work, but would consider training the right individual. Tell me about yourself and why you are interested in this opportunity. I likely won't respond to replies such as "Hey my name is John Doe, and I know how to clean gutters. I'm your guy, call me." Questions right off the bat. Have a truck? Own tools or ladders? Ladder experience, if so,doing what and how long? What are you doing now? etcetera. Please understand that the season is about to close when everything freezes up and snow is on the ground, so work may be limited until everything thaws come next year in March. I use to line up some indoor basement waterproofing job for the lean months for my help. None this year,,, yet. All depends on the weather right now. Also, I am swamped with work right now, and I may be slow to respond. Got to get to these clients before the snow hits.
