where are the musicians?

Moved to the Saint James area and haven't found any musicians around here I go to the bars and, I notice that this area could use some good musicians. There's a lot of talking going on on the microphone at places where you drink or eat but not a lot of good music I've heard the same songs done by different acts and they were all done poorly, you would think somebody would pick music they know how to play well or something there singer can sing, but maybe I'm just going to all the wrong places. I've been to the Southport bars and they don't have good musicians, I've been to the bars on the beach and the main road and Oak Island and haven't heard any musicians there either so what gives? Is this a place without musicians or is this just a place where they hire the people who will play for free and that's why it's so terrible? This is a tourist location why isn't there any entertainment? I've never experienced this in any tourist town.
