Description
Cuzco was surrendered to the pet store with a completely plucked chest and mutilated feathers. The owners said he was 2 (I suspect he's older) and didn't get along with their cockatoo. He had also been on an all seed diet.
He is dna male and microchipped (I have paperwork and tags). He is still barbering and possibly plucking but has come a long way since he arrived at the pet store 3 months ago. He has potential to be trained and is more likely to take to males. He likes to hang by his foot, will wave, say "Want some?" when you offer him a treat, "Go night night" if you disturb him when he's sleeping, and will sometimes mimic a phone conversation he heard his previous owner have. He hasn't seemed to have a problem with my Amazon or cats, but he wasn't fond of the dog and he doesn't like the conures. Because of his plucking/barbering, I will only rehome him to someone who has experience with special needs and/or large birds. He does scream and he will bite although he has taken my finger gently and groomed my nail. I'm going to be honest and say I got in over my head when I brought him home. He is my first macaw and it's not fair to either of us to constantly stress each other out. Also, he would probably do better as an only bird unless you have other birds and are able to spend a good amount of time working with him.
Rehoming fee is $3500 and includes cage, new crape myrtle branches for perches, bowls, toys, food, and travel cage. Please email if interested.
