EVELO Electric Bicycles is a successful direct-to-consumer ebike brand in business for over 10 years. We are looking for a talented Service Manager to oversee our Ebike service operations in Seattle, WA. EVELO offers a generous compensation package ($50K+ salary based on experience, 3 weeks paid vacation plus holidays, annual profit sharing, and stock options after 1st year). We are a small but dedicated team that supports each other and provides a positive work environment. As part of EVELO’s strong commitment to customer service, we offer a 21 Day Return policy. When a bike is returned, the Service Team is responsible for conducting an inspection, performing any necessary repairs, and preparing the bike to be relisted for sale as an Open Box Bike. A successful Service Manager has significant experience working on Ebikes, has supervisory experience, is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with using both a wrench and a computer. EVELO uses a host of software apps to run our business and the Service Manager needs to be adept at each of them. • Please respond via. email with a Cover Letter and Resume attached - applications without these two items will not be considered. Primary Responsibilities: • Oversee the operations for EVELO’s service area, including directing the activities of the mechanic(s). The Service Manager is expected to work on bikes each day - this is a position for those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. • Inspect bikes returned to EVELO to determine their condition and working order and document the information in a timely manner • Coordinate and approve customer refunds for bikes returned in acceptable condition • Fix any problems existing on returned bikes and document the time and materials spent on each bike • Prepare returned bikes for resale by properly addressing any mechanical/performance issues, testing the bike to ensure it is operating properly, and then repacking the bike for shipping to it’s next owner • Managing the photo process of returned bikes for relisting on the EVELO website and accurately reporting their mileage and visual condition (scratches, etc) to properly set expectations with potential customers. • Ensuring that on-hand inventory of returned bikes is sufficiently represented for sale on the website and that new models get added for sale as others models are sold. • Communicating with management whenever obstacles arise that prevent returned inventory from being completely refurbished for resale (parts shortages, etc.) • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace so that inventory is safe and easily accessible and identifiable • Participating in the review of production bikes including troubleshooting of any new/active QC issues • Assisting with new bike sample testing and evaluation - including the documentation of your feedback and analysis in shared reports • Assisting with troubleshooting related to quality control issues and suggesting solutions to EVELO team members and customers • Assisting with new bike modifications when needed (examples: Delta X rack packing adjustments, wiring on Dash, etc) • Assisting marketing with photo and video assets to be used for both training, service, and sales • Quarterly cross-training with Inventory & Shipping Manager to fill-in during absences, etc • Assisting with period physical inventory counts Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of bike shop mechanic experience • Detailed knowledge of ebike technical service including motors and battery systems • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Positive attitude and strong work ethic • Very organized and excellent at time management • Computer proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and messaging systems • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Excellent mechanical analysis and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of the ebike market and current ebike trends • Effective reading and managing of situations that might arise in the course of work and the ability to react appropriately to maintain calm and useful dialog • Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift boxes up to 100 lbs. Education: • HS Diploma, Associate degree (Preferred) Experience: • 5+ years bike shop mechanic experience • Supervisory experience preferred License/Certification: • Ebike technical certification(s) is preferred
