Jake from Boys Fort will talk of ancient greenery traditions centered around the winter solstice and help you create your very own Yule Log. See the blazing YULE before us! Join us for an evening of merriment as we talk of the dark days of mid-winter and the traditions surrounding the solstice, Norse lore and the 12 days of Christmas. Jake will then show you step by step how to create your very own Yule Log centerpiece. By bringing greenery indoors we are reminded of everlasting life. And on the eve of the new year, throw your Yule on the fire as an offering to speed the suns return towards spring. WORKSHOP: Your log, candle and greenery (Noble Fir, Incense Cedar, Juniper, Spruce, Holly and other branches) will be provided. WHAT TO BRING: Staple gun, staples, clippers and garden gloves if you wish. You may also like to forage for greenery from your own garden. Any evergreen, rosehips, waxy leaves or herbs like rosemary or even lavender sprigs would be a lovely addition. Don't have a staple gun or clippers?
